Thanks - I'm not suggesting, by the way, that I'm on some pedestal as creating the most amazing stuff. Just that there's a limit to how one should promote it to 'followers', etc.

Good points made here and 'The Cult of The Amateur' is pretty spot on. Just because everybody has the means to do something, doesn't auto entail that they should/have the ability/workrate etc etc...

In a market where supply massively outstrips demand for entertainment & media services, all you can do is create the best product/give the best service you humanly can.

Sure, some people will still accept crap into their lives but if a service/product etc is literally brilliant/stunning, it can only turn heads.
Quality will always be recognised, and people should have the right to demand quality before parting with their hard earned!

This is a good post, it's too easy for people to just rip into Hooky for his more recent adventures. At least you look at it from a objective point of view.

Hooky just winds me up and doesn't help new Manchester music for various reasons. This new label thing sounds like a disaster.

Good blog post! Nice constructive criticism, IMO. I'm a younger person who happens to like some of the so-called 'old-school' stuff as well as the newer dance music, but when I want to listen to old school tunes, I'd listen to an actual old school one. Not a song that deliberately tries to copy the past.

Keep on truckin dude. I'm always checking back here for mixes and edits. Some of the mixes on here have been a staple in the office over the last year or so.
